Want to feel productive and active in the last days of summer

 So , I am a college student who is currently can be described as a lump of laziness. I have never been the most hardworking person. However, there were times where I was consistent and succeeding. I don't mean academically I mean generally in life where I was focused, and my mind and body was connected. Today I am reminiscing about those days and wondering how I can go back. But before that let's talk about now.

The college I attend has not opened yet so I am still on my summer holiday. Which means sitting at home all day with nothing to do - and before you say get a summer job, where I live, there isn't many options and I couldn't plan my summer very well because of some personal events- you might say don't you have any friends yes yes I do but... here's the thing: the friends I have around where I live all started their colleges ABROAD so I'd have to take a plane to see them, and the friend (yes singular) I can take a bus to see is preparing for IMAT (if you don't know what that is; it's basically a med school entrance exam in Italy) and rest of the friends are from my college and they go back home for the summer. Back to my point for the past few weeks of summer I have been sitting at home all day getting bored out of my mind and there is only few more weeks left. As I mentioned before I want to reconnect my mind and body like I used to. Finally I decided to share the ideas I have that might help cure my boredom.

1. Accepting

Before I jump into any type of ideas or start planing I need to accept that I won't have the same energy or ambition to the things I aspire to do. That includes forgiving myself for the days I can't while being able to distinguish between lazy and tired. So that I can push myself through the lazy and allow myself to rest when tired.

2.Going out

If you are a poor college student like me chances are you are not going to want to spend the limited money you have. So best options would be budget friendly options or better, the free options which I am going to be honest I would prefer the free option in this economy so here are my ideas;

1. Go to the gym or if you don't have a subscription to a gym, go running. I would recommend  to go running early in the morning for people like me who have social anxiety.

2. Go swimming, If you have a pool, sea, ocean etc. near your area and entrance is either cheap or free go enjoy the water before summer ends. Take your headphones and a book with you so you won't have to talk to anybody.

3. Enjoy the last days of summer by having a picnic with yourself for some peace of mind and listen to a podcast(I like Emma Chamberlain's Anything Goes with Emma) and if you have a pet even better take them with you for some quality time.

3. Staying in

If you can't be bothered to go out and take on the outdoor activities which is the situation I am in this beautiful day here are my ideas for you;

1. Take back on an activity you used to enjoy that requires minimal effort such as doodling, painting, writing, reading or singing. I took back on writing which was something I enjoyed when it was for the essays in my classes.

2. Have a self care day with great music to enjoy your day, take a shower, do a mask, stretch , do some yoga, drink some lavender or chamomile tea for releasing stress.

3. Clean your home or room and if it is already clean well then deep clean. By deep clean I mean pick out the stuff you don't need or use and give them to a charity and if there are things completely useless give them to recycling.

4. Getting ready

Prepare yourself for the upcoming school year. This is probably the most exciting category especially if you are a girly in the productivity community or enjoy the content of the productivity community. Which is a community I am amazed with and perhaps a little bit jealous of. I am just so amazed by the willpower of the people in the community to keep studying for hours and hours.

1. Buy new school supplies, now here is the thing I went to the same exact stationery store for the same exact A5 notebook that I bought last year and there was a 346,8 % markup in the prices. That is how you know inflation is one interesting "thing" my friends. The reason I am saying this is I don't want to be a hypocrite and say that this is budget friendly.

2. Get organized. If you have a gmail you can start getting organized for free with google keep and google calendar which can be synchronized with google classroom if your teachers are making you use it. Even if they are not you can still use google keep and calendar.

3. If you are lucky and the teachers give you the syllabus of the class a week or two prior to the class starting you can read over to have some sort of idea about the first topic of the year. Unfortunately my teachers do no such thing so I looked for content on the internet that can give me an idea and came across the edX courses with Harvard University that luckily included some college courses I am about to take this year .
